The Committee of Administrators (COA) with the BCCI has decided to select 15-member Indian team for the ICC World Cup 2019 to be held in Mumbai on April 15. The BCCI decided to select the team eight days before the deadline to declare the World Cup team, which is April 23. It is believed that the selectors wanted the players involved in the team mentally to give more time for themselves.
India captain Virat Kohli is most likely to be in the meeting because he will be in the city on the same evening to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL against the Mumbai Indians.
Chief selector MSK Prasad had earlier said that if they choose the right team with the right intentions, the results will be correct. “The selection committee can certainly be proud that we have developed enough bench strength in all the departments of the game. In an interview with Indian Express, he said, “We do not have to lose sleep to choose a team, because we will choose the best team with the best combination possible.”
The account settlements have been discussed in the previous bilateral series between India and Australia. We will get Rs 2.09 crores. The discussion is going on now. On April 20, the officers will meet again with the CoA, “a BCCI official told PTI on Monday.
The World Cup will be held in England on May 30.
