The French automobile company Peugeot Citroen (now PSA Group) is planning to knock the Indian car market. The Peugeot Citroen brand can launch in April. According to a media report, the Citroen DS 7 Crossback and C5 Aircross have already been seen on Indian roads. It is expected that these two models will be launched soon.
Apart from this, the company is also planning an ambassador in India. According to sources, two days before Citroen’s Debu and officially entry in India, it has come to know that the company will also bring the Ambassador brand to India.
Ambassador Range cars can be launched in India by 2022. However, it is unclear whether it will require a standalone retail network or not. At the same time, Citroen will have a full-fledged dealer network. Ambassador branded cars are likely to be sold using a special online sales strategy. However, workshops will be common for both.
The company can launch a compact SUV or crossover style car first and then the company can then take out the hatchback. Both brands will share identical Sized ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) models of Citroen brand with each other’s platforms and other components. The PSA is also in Formula E since 2015-16 and it will bring many more lessons for the EV plan. Citroen’s premium brand DS also announced the electric vehicle range for Europe, which uses the E-TENS badge.
The news came a few days ago that Peugeot Citroen could launch the New Generation Ambassador Sedan in India. The company is also planning to sell the Citroen brand in India itself. The company had acquired rights to sell Ambassador to Birla Group’s auto company, Hindustan Motors. Since 1919, the company selling its cars in the world markets has sold 1.05 million cars so far.
